THE MODEL

The Lancia Flaminia (Tipo 813/823/824/826) is a luxury car produced by Italian automaker Lancia from 1957 to 1970. It was Lancia's flagship model at that time, replacing the Aurelia. It was available throughout its lifetime as saloon, coupé and cabriolet. The Flaminia coupé and convertible were coachbuilt cars with bodies from several prestigious Italian coachbuilders. Four "presidential" stretched limousine Flaminias were produced by Pininfarina for use on state occasions.

 

There were 12,633 Flaminias sold over 13 years.[3] Coupés outsold the four-door saloon, an unusual occurrence otherwise seen at the time only in American compact and midsize models whose coupé versions were standard factory models that cost the same or less than the sedan, while the Flaminia coupés' coachbuilt bodies made them considerably more expensive than the limousine-like Berlina.

THIS VEHICLE

Lancia Flaminia 2.5 1C 1961

History :

This Flaminia was delivered new to Italy. A registration documents dated from 1969 shows the car was in the region of Palerme at that time, and registered 119050. The car had the same registration number between 1997 and 2013, that means the car was still in Palerme at that time. We are then thinking the car spent most of it’s life in Sicily, dry climate. The car was imported to France then by French classic car dealer O’Bolides, and sold the car to French owner from who we had a part exchanged with a Maserati. Available now in our stock.

 

 

 

 

 

Service history

2011 : new clutch

2014 : new water pump and radiator

2015 : Fuel tank rebuilt. Rear axle seals changed. New red alpaca Soft-top

2016 : new stainless steel exhaust

2017 : Just being serviced by Lancia specialist Michel Chevalier : new brake master cylinder, new brake assist, new ignition, carburettor rebuilt, oil changed, engine compression test (perfect).

 

 

 

Condition of this Flaminia

Bodywork:

 

Is it here a well-kept Flaminia due to Sicily dry climate. This frame is absolutely in amazing original rust free condition, no accident, no damage, nothing! Only minor reparation under the battery box, probably may due to battery leaking. Epecimeter shows paint thickness between 250 and 500 microns! It means a very straight bodywork condition without excess fill-in ! Paint is 8/10 score, very well done. Front chrome bumpers are 7/10, minor things. Rear Chrome bumper is 10/10, was re-chromed last year. Front lights are 9/10 perfect. Right rear light is perfect, some fault on the left rear side.  Putting the car up to the lift, will show you a well kept floor, boot trunk, etc..

 

Interior:

This Flaminia still has it’s original interior. No leather cracks, no excess wear, that means the car is in original condition again. The one who loves patina, will love that interior ! Carpets are in quite perfect condition, were probably changed in the past.

 

Technical:

Le kilométrage actuel est de l’ordre de 20800 km au compteur. L’auto avait 19800 en 2015, seulement 1000km parcourus en 2 ans. Cette Flaminia sort de révision chez le pape des Lancia Michel Chevalier. Les prises de compression nous confirment que le moteur est entre 9,6 et 10.1 km/cm2 sur chaque cylindre (préco mini de 9.2). La pression d’huile est elle aussi parfaite, > à 4 bars à 1500 trs/min à chaud, et 7 bars à 3000 trs/min. Absence d’huile dans l’échappement. Les montées en régime sont franches, la tenue au ralenti est bonne même à froid,  tout nous confirme que le moteur est en parfaite santé. La boite de vitesses est quant à elle en excellent état, d’une douceur et d’une facilité de passage des vitesses incomparable. Le pont Arrière a lui été revu en étanchéité fin 2015, ras. La ligne d’échappement double est neuve, en inox de marque Podinox. Une excellente qualité d’inox, épaisse à la sonorité grave et envoutante. Le système de freinage vient d’être revu et révisé, ras.

 

Current mileage is around 20800km on clock. We don’t know if it’s original. Recent engine compression test shows each cylinder between 9,6 and 10,1 kg/cm2 (should be 9.1 at minimum and no more than 1 kg/cm2 in difference between each cylinder), which are perfect. Oil pressure is 7 kg/cm2 at 3000revs when hot, perfect !. No excess oil leaking, no smoke, nothing abnormal. Gearbox is absolutely smooth which impressed us ! Synchromesh are very perfect. Rear axle seals were changed recently. Braking system was just being serviced and perfect!! The only bad point at the moment would be a prop-shaft vibration, not more!

 

 

 

Test Drive :

Driving this Flamina is absolutely a dream! Turning the steering wheel effortless is impressed! Engaged the gear with just one finger, fantastic. Turning on the engine would give you an emotion by hearing the exhaust sound! This Flaminia drives straight, brakes straight, no frame noises, a superb well kept car!

OUR OPINION

We are very proud to introduce you this very well kept Aluminium Superlegerra Lancia Flaminia cochworked by touring. In original condition due to Sicily dry climate, only a new paint done some years ago, this Lancia is in fantastic condition to drive in any distance.
